Recessive ball python gene
Clown Ball Python: Genetics and Pairing Odds
Clown is a recessive gene. A ball python needs two copies to look Clown; with one copy it looks normal and is called het Clown. Pair two hets and about a quarter of the babies are visual Clown, while the normal-looking siblings are each 66% likely to be het. Breed a visual to a normal and every baby is het, which is how most Clown projects start.
