Axanthic Ball Python: Genetics and Pairing Odds
Axanthic is a recessive gene. A ball python needs two copies to look Axanthic; with one copy it looks normal and is called het Axanthic. Pair two hets and about a quarter of the babies are visual Axanthic, while the normal-looking siblings are each 66% likely to be het. Breed a visual to a normal and every baby is het, which is how most Axanthic projects start.
