Recessive ball python gene
Albino Ball Python: Genetics and Pairing Odds
Albino is a recessive gene. A ball python needs two copies to look Albino; with one copy it looks normal and is called het Albino. Pair two hets and about a quarter of the babies are visual Albino, while the normal-looking siblings are each 66% likely to be het. Breed a visual to a normal and every baby is het, which is how most Albino projects start.
