Black Lace Ball Python: Genetics and Pairing Odds
Black Lace is a co-dominant (incomplete dominant) gene. One copy gives the Black Lace look, and two copies make the Super Black Lace, a stronger version of it. Bred to a normal, a Black Lace gives about half Black Lace babies; a Super Black Lace gives Black Lace babies every time.
In Lock and Lay, Black Lace can't be bought at the start. It turns up only as a spontaneous mutation, from a lucky egg, and the first breeder to hatch one gets their name on the discovery board.
