Co-dominant ball python gene · super form: Super Champagne
Champagne Ball Python: Genetics and Pairing Odds
Champagne is a co-dominant (incomplete dominant) gene. One copy gives the Champagne look, and two copies make the Super Champagne, a stronger version of it. Bred to a normal, a Champagne gives about half Champagne babies; a Super Champagne gives Champagne babies every time. Two copies of Champagne do not survive, so Champagne × Champagne pairings lose about a quarter of the eggs.
